So we have been enjoying different types of Vegan ice cream for a while. We found Trader Joe's brand soy-based ice creams to be pretty good (and affordable). I really like the mango and vanilla, while Stacey likes the chocolate cherry one.
Then we bought our Vita-Mixer (about 6 months ago). It is able to blend ice, soy milk, and frozen berries into a delicious frozen treat in about 2 minutes. This is super easy, and quite tasty, too. We have tried it with chocolate and peanut butter, and they were both pretty good.
Just a couple weeks ago, we got our KitchenAid stand mixer, and we can't wait to get the ice cream maker attachment for it. We will have to update this soon.
Today, in preparation for our ice cream maker attachment, we went to a vegan ice cream seminar and demonstration. It was an event sponsored by Boston Vegetarian Society at Grasshopper in Allston, Mass. We saw Wheeler del Torro, author of Vegan Scoop. It was fun! And we got a signed copy of his book!
Happy Eating!
