Happy Spring 2010

It appears that all that rain (6 inches of which ended up in our basement) has helped out our garlic. Here is a picture of the sprouting cloves Stacey planted this winter. Can't wait to use this in our kitchen. It's our first time growing our own garlic.

Stacey planted seeds for peas, tomatoes (two kinds), jalapeño peppers, Brussels sprouts, basil, and onions. The peas she sowed into their own containers on our back porches, and the other will be sprouted indoors, then transplanted later this spring. Finally, she added some crushed egg shells to the garden bed.

We are talking to the woman who lives downstairs, because it seems like we will need some more space for our transplants once they are ready to be planted outside. We have blueberry bushes coming this spring, too. So, we might be digging up a new bed soon.
